The Summit, jointly hosted by HUD and EveryoneOn, is designed to provide ConnectHomeUSA staff with resources and tools to help build strong and sustainable digital inclusion programs.
Day 1: Planning a Strong Launch. The first day is geared towards the new 2019 Cohort and any CHUSA communities that would like a refresher on the key elements of launching a strong CHUSA program.
Days 2 and 3: Resources and Best Practices for Building Sustainable Digital Inclusion Programs. Both days are designed for all communities, from the Legacy CHUSA communities to the 2017-2019 Cohorts. Topics will cover cross-sector partnerships; engaging philanthropy; spotlights on communities doing innovative work in workforce, refurbishing, coding, senior programs, and other areas; stakeholder deep dives; an evening networking session; and more! (NOTE: Day 3 is a half-day).
Keynote Speakers:
The ConnectHomeUSA Team is proud to host two leading experts as keynote speakers during the Summit:
Day 2 Keynote: Jordana Barton is a Senior Advisor at the San Antonio Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. As a champion of digital inclusion, Ms. Barton has authored key guidance about how the Community Reinvestment Act can be used to fund and support digital inclusion work. In 2018, she received the “Federal Policy Champion Award” from the Coalition for Local Internet Choice and the “Community Broadband Hero of the Year Award” from the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors.
Day 3 Keynote: Angela Siefer is the Executive Director of the National Digital Inclusion Alliance. Ms. Siefer has been working in the field we now call digital inclusion since 1997. Government Technology Magazine named her one of the 25 top “Doers, Dreamers, and Drivers of 2019.”
