Supporting Infants and New Parents Experiencing Homelessness: A Conversation with Infant House

The days and weeks after a baby is born should be some of the happiest for new families. But for parents and infants experiencing homelessness, the uncertainty of their living situation can cause stress and lead to an unstable foundation for development. This scenario led Family Promise in Spokane, Washington, to create Infant House, a transitional shelter designed specifically for families with newborns.
