Each year, more than two million children live in households with a parent or caregiver who has a substance use disorder, which can put them at increased risk of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). With FORE’s support, Sesame Workshop is expanding its Parental Addiction Initiative with a new educational course for healthcare and social services providers called Hand in Hand: Supporting Children and Families Impacted by Addiction. We have partnered with FORE grantees Morgan Count Partnership and Denver Health to implement tools that strengthen nurturing connections between adults and children throughout a parent or caregiver’s recovery.
This webinar will feature an overview of the new educational course and the following esteemed guests will discuss opportunities for providers to address the impact of opioid use and overdose on children and families. Please register now and join us on Tuesday, January 28th at 2:00-3:00pm EST as we welcome:
- Jeanette Betancourt, Ed. D., Senior Vice President, U.S. Social Impact, Sesame Workshop
- Lisa Asbill, Ph.D., IECMH-E®, Clinical Psychologist, Denver Health
- Kristen Gingery, M.A., Ed.D., Executive Director, Morgan County Partnership
