Math and science are just as important as building children’s literacy skills, but too often these topics are given less attention in the kindergarten year. The fifth session in the Transforming Kindergarten webinar series, co-sponsored by New America and the Campaign for Grade-Level Reading, will delve into the importance of math and science. We will be exploring: · How investigation and exploration of math and science enable children to discover the world around them · How to deliver engaging, joyful lessons that pique children’s curiosity and · The support, resources and professional development needed from states and school districts. CGLR Learning Tuesdays affirms the Campaign's commitment to get better at getting better by learning with and from each other. We are using these webinars as a portal through which to access and explore the best science, ideas and programs. We expect to be informed, inspired and energized by an eclectic mix of presenters who will bring knowledge derived from research, practice and lived experience.
