The HUD Center for Faith and Opportunity Initiatives (HUD CFOI) is organizing a teleconference call on October 18, 2018, from 2:30 – 3:30 pm. The theme of the call is: "Learning Lead and Living Healthy”. The purpose is to disseminate information to faith and community leaders and non-profit organizations assisting communities with understanding and reducing the harmful impact of household lead on children and families. There will also be an opportunity for the participants to share information on best practices and lessons learned. During this call we will announce events taking place during National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week, October 21-27, 2018. CFOI is working in collaboration with the HUD Office of Healthy Homes and Lead Hazard Control. This Conference Call will feature experts discussing the hazardous and effects of lead on adults and children; recognizing symptoms; reducing lead; and removing lead hazards in the house where you are living, considering for rent and/or purchase. We will have presenters, discussing topics of interest for individuals and organizations in traditionally high-lead areas. This call will allow the participants to build bridges for better communication regard lead hazards and ultimately bring a better understanding of how to recognize and mitigate lead hazards in homes throughout America.
