Inspiring Best Practices for Improving Attendance of Students Experiencing Homelessness Series (Part 1)

Council of Large Public Housing Authorities
Washington, District of Columbia
Thursday, March 13, 2025 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm
As the number of students experiencing homelessness rises across the nation, so does the need for strategies that help these students attend school regularly. SchoolHouse Connection and Attendance Works interviewed school district leaders across the country to find promising approaches for reducing chronic absenteeism among this population. We are hosting a two part webinar series: Join Part One of the series to learn how school districts are using data-driven approaches and working across departments to improve attendance among students experiencing homelessness. Be sure to also register for Part 2 of this series on March 18, 2025, for a deeper dive with McKinney-Vento liaisons and school attendance leaders about the tools, strategies, and organizational change needed to turn absenteeism around for students experiencing homelessness. Participants will have the opportunity to engage and interact in breakout rooms: https://schoolhouseconnection.org/webinar/inspiring-best-practices-for-improving-attendance-of-students-experiencing-homelessness-series
