According to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the number of families staying in shelters, or who are visibly unsheltered, increased by 16% over the previous year. In addition, recent research from the Eviction Lab found that babies are the age group at greatest risk of eviction. New data analysis from SchoolHouse Connection and Poverty Solutions at the University of Michigan reveals that only 11% of infants and toddlers experiencing homelessness are connected to early childhood development programs, which can mitigate the impacts of homelessness, and connect families to services like housing and other supports. Join SchoolHouse Connection alongside guest presenters who will walk through this data in more detail, and share how providers, systems leaders, policymakers, and advocates can take action to increase access to services for infants, toddlers, and their families.
