The Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) has formed a partnership with the Healthcare Collaborative of Greater Columbus (HCGC) and their Central Ohio Pathways HUB to provide supportive services to all 14,000 CMHA-assisted households. A more regional approach to care is needed – one that involves coordinated, person-centered healthcare with robust connections to social services and community resources. An innovative infrastructure to do just that is underway in four communities across New Jersey: Trenton, Camden, Newark, and Paterson. A landmark National Academies of Sciences report commissioned by Congress concludes that childhood poverty in the U.S. could be cut in half within a decade with appropriate action. The Keeping Families Together model turned the usual paradigm for prioritizing affordable housing on its head.
