People with disabilities have a place to turn to find information on COVID-19. They can contact the Disability Information and Access Line (DIAL) to find vaccine locations, make appointments and arrange for transportation. Trained staff at DIAL can also help people with disabilities track down community supports to help with independent living, such as services that help with health care benefits, financial assistance, housing, food and more. DIAL, operated as a collaboration between a consortium of organizations serving people with disabilities and USAging, is funded by the Administration for Community Living. Staff at DIAL can also make referrals to local disability organizations. For more information, watch this short informational video.

This project was intended to guide both organizations’ ongoing work and advocacy and develop resources to help the field better prevent and end homelessness among minors. This toolkit includes: • Key issues and challenges for minors experiencing homelessness; • Strategies and lessons learned from advocacy for state minor consent to services laws (including questions to consider); • Legal issues and considerations relevant to host homes for minors; • Working towards equity while serving minors; • Child welfare and youth homelessness; and • Additional legal and policy issues.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that Black women are three times more likely to die from pregnancy related causes than white women. With the majority of PHA residents being Black, Indigenous, or people of color, PHAs understand they play a critical role in addressing racial inequities through increased focus on maternal health. This plenary, announced as part of the Biden-Harris Administration’s Maternal Health Call to Action, will discuss the role of PHAs in supporting the health and well-being of their residents.

Over the past several years, CLPHA has worked with its members to disseminate information on the best eviction prevention practices and many public housing authorities (PHAs) have made great progress in developing new strategies to keep families housed. The eventual ending of the CDC eviction moratorium provides an opportunity for PHAs to review their eviction prevention strategies. Panelists will review the latest research on COVID-19 and evictions, protecting voucher holders from eviction, and work that PHAs are doing to evaluate their own eviction practices through a racial equity lens.

Zoning is a way for communities to separate land by use or form. But from the start, zoning has separated more than just land uses. It has also separated people. As a result, we pay the cost in public health, racial and economic injustices, higher housing costs, and more.
