Hear about the housing movement within the context of civil and human rights and learn about the practical realities community development organizations face in their struggle to provide affordable rental housing. The discussion is moderated by James Tracy, author of Dispatches Against Displacement: Field Notes From San Francisco’s Housing Wars, and features Lynn Lewis, founding former director of Picture the Homeless, New York City; Lisa Owens, executive director, City Life/Vida Urban Boston; and Amanda Huron, author of Carving Out the Commons. This talk complements the exhibition Evicted, which will be open prior to the program.
