Conference Call: Spotlight on Seniors and SNAP

Council of Large Public Housing Authorities
Washington, District of Columbia
Tuesday, June 4, 2019 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm
Call

Join us for an interactive discussion on getting Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits to more eligible older Americans. FRAC’s interactive maps show significant gaps in reaching older Americans in communities across the country. A new series of FRAC briefs offer ways to close those gaps. Registrants will receive advance copies of the briefs.

The call will focus on policies and best practices for connecting more eligible older Americans with SNAP and helping them obtain more adequate benefit amounts. Topics range from model application assistance strategies, technology tools for streamlining enrollment, and ways to take into account older Americans’ out of pocket medical expenses.

There will be time for Q&A, including opportunities for callers to provide their lessons learned.

Speakers:

  • Vicky Negus, Policy Advocate, Massachusetts Law Reform Institute
  • Ellen Vollinger, Legal/SNAP Director, Food Research & Action Center
